About me
I am English, a solicitor (non-practising) and a lecturer in law. I have over 20 years’ experience teaching law and legal skills to native and non-native English speakers.
I previously worked as a solicitor and as a professional support Lawyer at commercial law firms in England, specialising in commercial real estate law.
I was also a senior lecturer in law at Manchester Metropolitan University, teaching property law, legal skills, professional conduct, and accounting. I have a PGCE teaching qualification in higher education (Post Graduate Certificate in Education).
I am currently an independent teacher based in Paris, where I use my background as an English lawyer and teacher to help French legal professionals improve their legal skills in English. I also lecture in legal English and English law at various universities in the Paris area. See here for more details about the training I offer.
I am the co-author with Louise Kulbicki of Practical English Language Skills for Lawyers: Improving Your Legal English. Aimed at lawyers and law students, our book teaches essential legal English skills for the modern workplace.
